Draw Close

Do you ever feel like so much a of a mess that you wonder if anyone would really want to be there for you in hard times? Well, there is Someone who wants to draw close to you, when  you are struggling and aren’t nearly the best version of yourself, and His name is Jesus! God sent Jesus, His only Son, to this world at a time when He knew everyone was a mess and needed saving. God knows all of  you, including the things you don’t speak about, or don’t know how to deal with, and He just wants to be there for you.

If you ever feel like you are too far gone and too messed up to go to God, remember God reached out to you first by sending His son.

Jeremiah 30:21 states, “Their prince shall be one of themselves; their ruler shall come out from their midst; I will make him draw near, and he shall approach me, for who would dare of himself to approach me? declares the Lord.” God understands how we might feel guilty for just how helpless we are, so He chooses to extend Himself to us. All God truly wants from you is to accept, trust, follow, and honor Him! Jesus, Himself, says in John 6:44, “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him.”

God wants you and He wants you to come as you are!

He knows we need His help and forgiveness. For this reason, He sent Jesus to die on the cross for all of your, and the world’s, sins. Since Jesus lived a perfect life, shed His blood in death, and rose by His almighty power from the dead, He has made you alive and forgiven in Him!

Romans 1:20 explains how God has always been here with us and reveals Himself to us throughout our lives. The verse states, “for his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.”

We have no excuse for not accepting Jesus’ extended hand in our darkest moments. His beauty, power, and glory have been shown through the creation in this world! All the sunsets, trees, birds, and flowers. All the hugs, smiles, laughs, and connection with others- He is in it all! In addition, God reveals throughout the Bible how He gives chances to His people because He so desperately wants us to know Him. He sent Jesus to show His love and compassion towards us, even though we are so undeserving of it.

Even if we don’t draw close to Him so quickly, He still draws Himself to us.

God doesn’t want to leave us in the mess of sin and shame in this world, He wants us to join Him in a better way of living. God’s way is a way of redemption and restoration! He makes all things new! God wants to take all the things that weigh you down and separate you from Him. In this way,  you can experience Him and all He has for you as His child! Through Jesus’ death, the gap between us and God was bridged, so we can have access to Him at all times and in all situations. Romans 8:38-39 says how we can be “..sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers,  nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” The Lord draws near and stays near. He will never leave you! He wants to carry you, and strengthen you, in the hard times and in your brokenness. He wants to  show Himself as a light in the midst of your darkest moments. Remember to draw close to God in all moments, and at anytime, knowing He is always there to guide you and provide His love and strength to you! Numbers 6:24-26, “‘The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.’”
