Behind the Name
SEALED WITH GRACE

SEALED WITH GRACE 〰️
As godly women, we are expected to be the ones who consistently show love through action. We are to be the primary care givers. We are the nurturers. For example, most every woman has that loving look when they hold a baby, or have that urgent feeling to run and help when a kid is struggling, crying, or in trouble. We each have a want to fill a need or to help, work, encourage, and serve others in some way. Those are all gracious acts or acts of love.
Sealed With Grace stood out when I was thinking through names for this leadership/ministry because I believe there are so many important points that can come from the name. Firstly, let’s explore the meaning behind the word “sealed.” Google’s dictionary describes the word “seal” as “a device or substance that is used to join two things together so as to prevent them from coming apart or to prevent anything from passing between them.”
This reminds me of how our relationship with God is “sealed” because of what Jesus did for us on the cross. Romans 8:38-39 explains how nothing can separate us from the love of God. God and man are brought together through Jesus. Jesus gives us access to God and prevents from anything coming in between us. Another description for “seal” is a piece of wax that had a king’s ring imprinted in it and was used to stamp a letter shut or put on a document. I will come back to this meaning.
Let’s move onto the word “grace.” Grace is defined by Google’s dictionary as “the free and unmerited favor of God” which is also known as a huge act of love. God illustrated His love for us (grace to us) through sending His only Son to live a perfect life (without sin), die a sinner’s death on a cross in our place with our sins upon Him, and then Jesus (His Son) rising from the dead so we could be forgiven and have eternal life in Him. Ephesians 1:13-14 states, “in him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.”
Now, going back to the second meaning used to describe “seal” that paints a picture of a king securely closing an envelope or marking his document. Due to believing in what Jesus did, and through baptism, we are sealed with the Holy Spirit. That is our “stamp” from us being saved by God’s love. What a beautiful thing! It is by nothing that we do, but what He did for us. Through the Holy Spirit, we get to believe, love, and be divinely used by God. Romans 5:5 says how, “…God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” So, because of the Holy Spirit we receive God’s love and through the Holy Spirit we are sealed. We get transformed by the gift of the Spirit and, therefore, get to become the women of God we are meant to be. This carries into our identity, confidence, and ability to be a good daughter, friend, girlfriend, wife, and mother. THAT is what this name and organization is all about, learning how to live as the woman you were made to be as you begin to fulfill your God-given role. You are completely secured with God’s love. You are given a purpose. Most importantly, your Creator and Father is the King, and since you are His child, you are His daughter, and a princess, if you will! Here’s to starting the journey of learning how to live, act, and love like it!
