What Jesus Has Done For You
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Matthew 27 and 28 explain just what Christ has done for you and me. I want to give some insight into your struggles versus His so maybe you’ll see the similarities.
At times, you may feel alone, persecuted, betrayed, misunderstood, humiliated, and just plain old hurt - physically or mentally. When this happens/when trials come, you may feel as though you can’t see Jesus or that He can’t see you. But, let me encourage you that it is the exact opposite. He knows you better than you know yourself. So much so that He died for you before you were even born - He saw you. He knew how sinful you’d be, the way you would feel, the things that you would go through and He willingly went through suffering and death to save you! Jesus has felt every one of those negative feelings to the fullest.
Even though Jesus is 100% God, He is also 100% man. He experienced emotional hurt and physical pain. Leading up to the cross, He was misunderstood by the religious leaders of the time and was betrayed by His closest friends. He was humiliated, beaten, and persecuted before and while on the cross. Yet, He willingly refused gall which is supposed to help with the pain while He was suffering on the cross for you and me. He endured it all to the fullest for you and me - taking on our sin and putting it to death on that cross. He was even separated from God because of our sin that was laid on Him as He was on the cross and while others around Him mocked Him. I bet He felt alone. He knew the cost of it would be His dignity, reputation, and His life, but He said you are worth it.
So, when you feel like there’s no where to turn and the last thing you’d want to do is turn to God, please just give Him a try anyway. He understands more than you can ever imagine. Jesus rose from the dead so that you’d be forgiven of all your sins when you repent and so that you would be His. He wants to be your rescuer. He has done it before and will do it again and again and again.
Turn to the God who came down to live among His creation in order to teach, love, and save it.
There is comfort, freedom, love, joy, and peace that comes from knowing and confiding in Him. He wants you to experience the life He has given you to the fullest! (John 10:10)
