God’s Not Done With You

God does not leave you to figure your life out by yourself. On the contrary, He wants us to understand that He sent His Son to lead us through this life. This starts to happen when you remind yourself that God has good plans in store for you! It may be easier said than done, but taking the steps forward is more important than being stuck in your fears or what you think is failure.

For example, did you know that feeling sad, hurt, or guilty is not in God’s plan for you?

Some people think that God causes these bad things to happen because of what we have done. But sin is a part of everyone’s nature and there are consequences as a result of it. However, what we can focus on is the fact that God is the one who corrects any wrongs. God offers a better way to get through this messy life. He provides peace, love, grace, and strength to get through, whereas the world/sin offers sadness, despair, temporary pleasures and other such things. In John 16:33 Jesus says, “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” When God sent His son, Jesus, it was for Him to live a perfect life, die a sinner’s death, and rise from the dead. By doing so, He overcame the world, sin, death and the devil. All of which were supposed to keep you separated from God. Now, you can come to know Jesus as your Savior, despite all the things that you think disqualify you from being associated with Him. However, this doesn’t mean you are exempt from the trials of life, but that you can cling to Him through them! He provides so much better than what the world offers- He provides reasons for hope and confidence in Him! Second Corinthians 5:21 explains that, “for our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” Therefore, we can know that God takes what the devil means for evil and turns it around for good! However, that only happens when you turn from your past and walk forward in God’s purpose for you. You may think your past, or current situation, are too shameful as it may be filled with regretful and hurtful moments. On the contrary, I assure you it is not too big or too bad for the love of God to cover. God doesn’t need a reason to love you because God is love.

In addition, when He sees His child in darkness, whether metaphorically or mentally, His first reaction as our loving Father is to deliver His son or daughter. Jesus says in John 12:46, “I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness.” Jesus is the light that can light up the darkest place in your life and mind! He provides a way out by shining His light on every next step as He leads you on your path! God created you so, of course, He always extends His love to you – a steadfast love that was shown on the cross! God, illustrated through His Son, how He is all in on loving you!

He has given everything and you didn’t even need to earn it or ask for it!

Think about that for a second, a love that is completely free, no conditions. Seems to good to be real right? That’s what is so good about God. You may be thinking “well is there anything I can do to receive that love?” What you do is believe that Jesus lived, died, and rose from the dead to save YOU, and that through Him you are forgiven, loved, free, and made for a purpose!  Romans chapter six explains how we can identify with righteousness because of what Jesus did on the cross. Romans 6:14 states, “for sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.” When you believe and claim what Jesus did for you and how He saved you, while identifying with what He says about you, then you begin to see your life and yourself differently. Second Corinthians 5:17 explains how, “if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” He doesn’t just patch you up and send you on your way, He makes you new and leads you along the path He has planned for you! Jesus’ love for you begins to transform your thinking and outlook on life as you lean into your belief in Him! God’s love heals, making you healthy and whole in all areas of your life -  mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically. You will begin to feel more confident because of His love for you. In addition, as you notice God work in your heart, and your life, you will want to share this love that changes you with others! Jesus explains in John 13:34, “..just as I have loved you, you are to love one another.” So remember, your story isn’t over for God is never done with His people! Those who look to Him will always grow through the trials they face because God gives every part of it purpose. He uses the good and the bad in life, so give it all to Him and watch how His love transforms your life into a great testimony for Him! As you share your testimony, you will then give hope to others of what God can do for them too!
